Pope Francis says ex-pope Benedict is ‘very sick’, asks for prayers

VATICAN CITY – Pope Francis requested for prayers for former pope Benedict on Wednesday, saying he’s “very sick”.

Francis made the shock attraction on the finish of his normal viewers, giving no particulars.

Benedict, 95, in 2013 grew to become the primary pope in some 600 years to resign. He has been residing within the Vatican since then.

“I wish to ask all of you for a particular prayer for Pope Emeritus Benedict, who, in silence, is sustaining the Church. Allow us to keep in mind him. He’s very sick, asking the Lord to console and maintain him on this witness of affection for the Church, till the tip,” Francis stated, talking in Italian.

There was no fast remark from the Vatican on the state of Benedict’s well being, and cellphone calls to his residence within the Vatican weren’t answered.
