A 65-year-old girl has been arrested and charged over a suspicious fireplace at a Timaru property on Friday.
The fireplace on the Craigie Ave (State Freeway 1) property was extinguished shortly after Hearth and Emergency New Zealand crews arrived on the home at 7.20am and an individual was taken to Timaru Hospital with minor accidents.
A police spokesperson mentioned on Wednesday they had been referred to as to help Hearth and Emergency on the residential handle on Friday.
“A hearth on the handle was extinguished, and one individual was taken into custody,” the spokesperson, who couldn’t affirm whether or not the arrested girl was the occupant of the property, mentioned.

On Tuesday, a Hearth and Emergency spokesperson confirmed the fireplace was being handled as suspicious.
There was no data out there on the extent of the harm brought on by the fireplace.
